We pay a price for our reactions.
In everyday life, we pay a price for our reactions, often without recognizing what happened. The price can include:
- missed opportunities
- damaged relationships
- physical and mental health issues
There is an opportunity for each of us to gain new understanding so that we can collaboratively clear a path forward.
We can change our patterns of reaction to take action.
To illustrate how we can clear a path forward, it is beneficial to explore our understanding of how we, as humans, respond to conditions in our everyday lives. We may be familiar with the following quote:
Between stimulus and response, there is space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
– Viktor E. Frankl / Stephen Covey –
I was first introduced to this quote in The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey, 1989). I loved the idea of choosing my response and I set out to find the space to choose. Yet in key moments, I could not find the space. I did not act. I reacted.
We often think that our reactive patterns of behaviour are simply part of who we are. We feel that we need to change others or change our situation to feel better. We learn to avoid situations or cope with the feelings that we experience. When we learn that frozen perceptions trigger our frozen reactions, we can use Logosynthesis to change the frozen sensory perceptions. When the trigger is gone, we are no longer trapped in patterns of reacting. We are free to act.
We can thrive in our times by changing reactions to action.
Using Logosynthesis to resolve what bothers us allows us to connect with what is meaningful in our lives. We can thrive in our times. That is why I wrote “Thriving In Our Times: From Reactions To Action Using Logosynthesis®”. In this book I share my personal story to show you how you can use Logosynthesis for leadership and personal development.
